Privacy Policy

Effective August 7, 2026

The short version: Cert IT Trainer for iOS does not require an account, display ads, track you, or upload your study activity. Progress and imported quiz data stay on your device.

1. Scope

This policy covers the Cert IT Trainer iOS application and this product website, gridcommand.ca. Cert IT Trainer is developed and operated by Gridcommand in Canada.

2. Information stored by the iOS app

The app stores the following information locally on your device so its study features can work:

Quiz scores, quiz history, answered-question history, and study progress
XP, streaks, achievements, daily goals, and selected priority certification
Bookmarks, missed-question counts, weak areas, and spaced-repetition records
Reminder preferences and local notification schedules
Custom quiz questions imported from CSV files

This information is not uploaded to Gridcommand and is not used to identify you.

3. No account, advertising, analytics, or tracking

Version 1.0 of Cert IT Trainer does not offer or require an account. It includes no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or cross-app tracking technology, and it does not request App Tracking Transparency permission.

4. Custom quiz imports

If you import a custom CSV quiz, the app reads and stores the imported questions locally. The file and its contents are not sent to Gridcommand.

5. Reminders and notifications

If you enable study reminders, iOS asks for notification permission and stores the schedule on your device. You can disable reminders in the app or in iOS Settings at any time.

6. Support and question reports

When you choose Report a Bug or report a question, Cert IT Trainer opens an editable draft in your email app. Nothing is sent automatically. If you choose to send the email, Gridcommand receives the address and information included in that message and uses it only to respond, investigate the issue, and maintain support records.

7. External resources

The app includes links to official certification resources and other websites. Opening a link transfers you to your browser, where the destination site's privacy policy applies. Cert IT Trainer does not receive your browsing activity from those sites.

8. This website

gridcommand.ca does not provide accounts, quizzes, analytics, advertising, or tracking. It does not set marketing or analytics cookies. Cloudflare hosts and secures the site and may process basic request metadata, such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and security signals, to deliver the page and protect it from abuse.

9. Your controls

Reset study progress from Settings in the app.
Delete custom quiz banks from Custom Quizzes.
Disable notifications in the app or in iOS Settings.
Delete all locally stored app data by removing the app from your device.

10. Children

Cert IT Trainer is a professional certification study tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

11. Security and retention

Study data remains protected by the security controls on your Apple device. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, investigate reported issues, and maintain appropriate business records.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
